Splashtop Lost Authentication
If you have enabled Two-Factor authentication on your Splashtop account, each time you log in from a different device, you will be prompted to enter a six-digit security code from your mobile device. Every thirty seconds, this code will alter.
- To access your Splashtop account, you’ll need a recovery code.
- If you’ve lost access to the mobile device where the security code is stored, get the authenticator app, switched phones, etc.
- When you configure Two-Factor authentication, you are given a list of recovery codes.
- 2FA cannot be reset or disabled for team owners and administrators’ members.
- Do file a ticket with your Splashtop Account email address and the phone number you used to register for two factor authentication if you have forgotten your recovery codes.
- We will provide you the recovery codes after we have confirmed the phone number.
Recovery Code
- Click “Use an emergency recovery code instead” after logging into https://my.splashtop.com.
- You can access your account on our website by entering the emergency recovery code.
- Click on your name in the upper right corner and select Account Info to reset Two-Factor authentication.
- Next, click Two-Step Verification to turn it off.
- To reset Two-Step Verification, simply turn it back on after setting it off.
How Do I Recover My Lost Authentication Code?
- You can get Google Authenticator from the cloud as soon as you’ve updated it.
- It is linked to your Google account.
- You can manually move your accounts to a different device or recover utilizing your QR code if you are not backing up Authenticator.
How Do I Recover My Authentication?
To get access back if you’ve got your backup key stored, take the following actions:
- Install and launch the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Locate the “+” symbol and click it.
- Depending on the device, it may be in the top right or bottom right corner.
- A prompt asking you to “Scan a QR code” or “Enter a setup key” will appear.
- Go with “Enter a setup key.”

- Put the backup key you were provided when you first set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your account in the “Your key” area. Usually, this key is made up of a string of characters and numbers.
- Make sure the type in the “Type of Key” column is set to “Time-based” if asked.
- After entering the backup key, select “Add.”
- Your account will now have a 6-digit code generated by the app.
- To log back into your account, use the 6-digit code that Google Authenticator provided.
- You should always utilize the most recent code that is displayed because it will update every 30 seconds.
How Do You Recover Authenticator If The Phone Is Lost?

There are following steps to set up Splashtop:
- On the PCs you plan to connect from, install the Business App.
- Set up the Streamer software on the PCs you wish to connect to.

Business App for Splashtop Installation
- Use the Business App to establish a computer connection.
- Install the Business App on the PCs that you wish to use for the connection.
- Go to our download page here or https://www.splashtop.com/app.
- Open the install file after downloading it.
- The install file will be found in the folder that your browser specifies if the file is saved (most browsers store documents to the Downloads folder by default).
- The application ought to launch automatically after installation.
- If not, you can locate it within the Applications folder on the Mac and the Start menu on Windows.
Streamer Software for Splashtop Installation
- On the computer or computers you wish to connect to, install Splashtop Streamer.
- Install the Business App on the computer or devices you wish to connect FROM in step two.

- Note: If the installer does not launch, right-click it, select Properties, and then, if the “Unblock” option appears, click it. Windows occasionally prevents downloads of EXE files.

Permissions for Access
- The device will be linked to the account with “Admin Access only” for procedures 1-3.

- To allow everyone on the team to use the computer, you, as the team owner, must modify the access permissions.
- If you are trying to add a computer to a team, it won’t appear in the Business app.
- To modify the level of access permissions for you, get in touch with the owner or admin of your team.
- Establish a connection using the Business App
- Launch the Business Application
- Enter your password and email to log in.
- You will be prompted to authenticate your electronic device if this is your first time logging in to the that device and you do not have 2-Step verification enabled.
- An email with an authentication link will be sent to you.
- Your list of accessible computers should appear when you log in.
- To establish a connection with any computer, double click on it.
Note: After installing the Streamer, if you don’t see any devices, see if the error “Unable to connect to Splashtop Servers” displayed by the Streamer.
